2 Young Men Shot Dead on Grambling State Campus

Local authorities are searching for the person who fatally shot two young men at Grambling State University early this morning.

University spokesperson Will Sutton identified the victims as as Earl Andrews, 23, a senior from Farmerville, LA and Monquiarius Caldwell, 23, also of Farmerville.

The two victims were discovered in a courtyard between two dormatories. The gunmen fled the scene.

Based on preliminary information gathered at the scene, the shooting followed an altercation which started in one of the adjacent dorms, according to the Lincoln Parrish Sheriff’s Office.

Grambling State, in northern Louisiana, has an enrollment of about 5,200 students. The university’s homecoming activities started Sunday, and events are scheduled through Saturday, Sutton said.
