Beware of Charity Scams

Worried about victims of national disasters in Houston, Puerto Rico or in another part of the nation or the world? That’s understandable. But you need to be careful. The Federal Trade Commission warns that scammers are ready and waiting to take advantage of consumers who want to contribute to charities to help victims of natural disasters. Be leery of appeals for aid that seem to be very urgent.
