Creed II Has Thanksgiving Release Date

On Tuesday, MGM and Warner Bros. unveiled the first poster and stills from Creed II, the follow-up to the critically-acclaimed, 2015 Rocky spin-off, which amassed $173.6M at the global box office.

Black Panther‘s Michael B. Jordan returns as light heavyweight boxer Adonis Creed aka Donnie Johnson, who’s set on avenging the death of his father Apollo Creed by boxing Ivan Drago’s son Viktor. Sylvester Stallone is back in his Golden Globe-winning role as Adonis’ trainer and mentor Rocky Balboa, and he also penned the sequel’s screenplay.

Things are apparently still going strong between Creed and his girlfriend Bianca Westworld’s Tessa Thompson, a singer-songwriter who has progressive hearing loss. Director Steven Caple Jr. of Grown-ish and The Land takes over the helm for original director Ryan Coogler, who remained on as executive producer.

On May 10, Rocky IV villain Dolph Lundgren shared a snap from the Philadelphia Museum of Art in the run up to the Creed II release.
