Deciding Upon a Financial Planner

Getting professional help, in the form of a financial planner, to help you create a money management strategy to reach both short- and long-term financial goals is a great idea. However, not all financial professionals are created equal. How do you narrow down the pool of possible candidates to work with? One key way is by checking their credentials. I am a big believer in working with those who have earned the designation of CFP, or Certified Financial Planner. It’s not the certification out there, but I would put the CFP at the top of the list when screening for a financial pro to hire.
