Dennis Rodman was busted for driving under the influence in Southern California over the weekend. The NBA legend may have to serve time behind bars because he was on probation when he was put through the system.

Rodman was riding around Newport Beach on Saturday night (Jan.13) when at around 11 p.m. police pulled him over for a traffic violation. Judging by Rodman’s appearance and behavior the officers apparently observed enough signs of intoxication to administer a field sobriety test. After submitting to a breathalyzer test that returned a mark above the .08 legal limit, he was cuffed and transported to the local police station where he was booked on suspicion of DUI. The 56-year-old Hall of Famer was kept until it could be determined that he was sober enough to get himself home safely and was ultimately free to go after spending 7 hours in custody.

Following his release, reports recalled Rodman being sentenced to three years probation following an arrest for striking a car and fleeing the scene after driving the wrong way down an Orange County, CA freeway in 2016. If his probation is revoked over Saturday’s arrest, Rodman could be looking at up to two years in prison.

“Alcoholism has been a struggle on and off for Dennis the past 15 years,” Rodman’s rep told TMZ in the wake of the incident. He says that his client has been dealing with “tough personal issues” and that he will look to sign the retired baller into rehab ASAP.
