Taraji P. Henson got into a car accident on Sunday. The actress, 46, was driving a silver Maserati when she slammed into a fire hydrant on the set of her new action-packed thriller Proud Mary in Lawrence, Massachusetts, according to TMZ.
The beauty, best known for her TV series Empire, was not hurt. The $100,000 car was a four-door sedan with tinted windows. ‘She had done four takes without incident, but on the fifth she cut the wheel too hard and slammed into the hydrant,’ a source told the site. The Maserati was ‘definitely the worse for wear’ and the insider thinks it will cost about $12,000 to fix.
They had been filming an explosion scene all day. In Proud Mary she Henson plays a hit woman whose life is turned upside down when she meets a young boy who awakens the maternal instinct she never knew she had. The movie is from Screen Gems. Henson has been busy both on the small and big screen in the past year. Her hit Empire, was renewed for a fourth season by Fox.
Tana Hart has the report.
