(AURN) -- President Barack Obama made it clear Wednesday that he supports same sex marriage, and the political arena is a buzz with people commenting on his statement. In a Good Morning America interview Mr. Obama said, "I think same sex couples should be able to get married". He says that his feeling is a personal in nature, however he will leave it up to the states to decide on its legality.

Public Affairs Specialist & Political Communications Strategist Jasmyne Cannick is also a major gay rights activist and told AURN.com she appreciates President Obama's stance on the topic, however there are more pressing issues to discuss.
