During the early hours of Oct. 31, George Washington University’s Tau Kappa Epsilon house
was broken into and vandalized. While several things were tampered with, a Torah scroll was the
only religious text to be destroyed. The perpetrators are still unknown; however, the police and
university are still in the process of investigating.

In the meantime, Jewish students and allies speak out about patterns of antisemitism that they
have encountered on campus included a 2019 incident on social media and a controversial class
assignment over the summer. Students hope to see concrete actions from their administration to
find the culprits and educate their students in order to quell antisemitic behavior in the GW
community.
