(AURN News) — Big news is coming for Frontier Airlines passengers. The budget carrier announced this week that Wi-Fi is coming to its aircraft.

The airline will use Elon Musk’s Starlink service, developed by SpaceX, which Frontier claims will offer “the fastest WiFi in the sky.”

“Starlink transforms the onboard experience, giving customers the flexibility to work, stream, browse, and stay connected throughout their journey,” said Jimmy Dempsey, CEO of Frontier Airlines.

Along with partner international airlines Wizz Air, Volaris, JetSMART and Cebu, Starlink will be installed on more than 1,000 aircraft.

But passengers will have to wait. The airline says the first flights with the new Wi-Fi will begin in 2027. Frontier also claims it will be the first airline in the country to access the high-speed internet through a new system managed by Starlink.
