(AURN News) — Gas prices started the week much higher as the United States and Iran reengage in a war that has seen the cost of just about everything go up as inflation continues to hit Americans.
Crude oil prices jumped over the week as the fighting continued to intensify. And with the increase in fighting comes more closures and slowdowns at the Strait of Hormuz by Iran.
According to AAA, gas prices across the country were up to start the week, with the national average now back up to $4.00 a gallon. Last week, it was $3.87 a gallon. This time last year, it was $3.14 a gallon.
California is seeing the highest gas prices at $5.49 a gallon, while Indiana has the lowest at $3.35 a gallon.
As the war between the United States, Israel and Iran continues, so does the increase in costs for your wallet, affecting not just gas but also food and so much more.
And after continuing to deal with high inflation for several years now, the ramp-up and expansion of the conflict means you will continue to pay more as the war that started in February drags on.
