Actor and comedian Reggie McFadden, known for "Def Comedy Jam" and "In Living Color," died at age 57. McFadden was born in Brooklyn in 1968 and spent the final 18 years of his life in Tanzania.

(AURN News) — Actor and comedian Reggie McFadden, best known for “Def Comedy Jam” and “In Living Color,” has died at 57, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

His sister, Bernice McFadden, said the U.S. State Department informed the family that he died in Tanzania, where he had lived for 18 years. A cause and exact date of death have not been announced.

Born in Brooklyn in 1968, McFadden broke through on HBO’s “Def Comedy Jam” in 1991 before moving to Los Angeles. He later appeared on “Martin,” “Hangin’ With Mr. Cooper,” “Moesha” and “Coach,” and in 23 episodes of “In Living Color” during its final season.

His credits also included “Getting Personal,” “Little Nicky” and “Curb Your Enthusiasm.”

McFadden had his own Comedy Central special, performed regularly at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas and later owned Olduvai Records in Tanzania. He remained active throughout his career.

He is survived by his mother, siblings and two sons.
