Active Shooter at Atlanta Hospital Facility Leaves One Dead, Four Injured

Atlanta police are searching for 24-year-old Deion Patterson, who’s considered armed and dangerous after a shooting at Northside Hospital Medical in Midtown Atlanta on Wednesday. One person has died and four others have been injured, three of whom are in critical condition.

The victims have been confirmed as women but their identities have not been released. Patterson and his mother had arrived for a medical appointment where he became angry and began shooting a handgun. Patterson’s mother was unharmed and is cooperating with police. The suspect carjacked a vehicle after the shooting, and police have released images of him.

Residents in Midtown Atlanta are being urged to stay inside as the investigation continues. The White House has been informed of the situation, with President Biden expressing frustration over ongoing gun violence across the country.

As the search for the suspect continues, authorities have warned the public not to approach Patterson if he is seen.
