(AURN News) — Pioneering BET personality and radio host Angela Stribling has died at 58, PEOPLE reported.
Journalist Ed Gordon, who worked with Stribling during their years at BET, announced her death in a Facebook post on Sept. 27, remembering her as a friend and “sweet soul.”
Stribling died at home on Sept. 26 after a two-year battle with brain cancer, according to her husband, Ken Washington.
Stribling rose to prominence through her work at BET and also worked with WJZ-TV and WJLA-TV. More recently, she hosted the late-night radio program “Pillow Talk” and lent her voice to national campaigns for brands including Mercedes-Benz, Folgers and Allstate.
She also became known for her warm interviewing style. Over the course of her career, Stribling interviewed major figures including Bill Clinton, Stevie Wonder, Quincy Jones, Brandy and Sterling K. Brown.
Gordon offered condolences to Stribling’s husband and loved ones.
