(AURN News) — Did you know that August is National Black Business Month?
Here are the numbers behind the impact of Black-owned businesses in America.
With more than 3 million Black-owned businesses in the country, those businesses generate an estimated $200 billion in combined annual revenue.
Established in 2004 by John William Templeton and Frederick E. Jordan, National Black Business Month was created to encourage, support and highlight Black-owned businesses.
You can do your part by shopping Black and local, supporting Black-owned entrepreneurs and raising awareness about the challenges Black businesses face.
It is even more important today as DEI programs, grants and initiatives continue to be dismantled and destroyed by President Donald Trump and his administration.
