President Biden is hailing the new jobs report. The economy added 390,000 jobs in May, while the unemployment rate remained at 3.6%.

The president described the new report as “excellent” and “a sign we’re beginning to shift to steady growth.”

Despite the good news, Biden said inflation is still his top priority and he “remains committed to doing everything in [his] power to blunt the impact on American families.”

The latest job growth numbers did slow slightly after 436,000 jobs were added in April. But the president pointed to issues like Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and the pandemic still affecting the market and said the economy is rebounding and is strong.
