Today, the Biden-Harris administration announced new steps to speed up federal permitting processes, ensuring that critical infrastructure projects get underway more quickly. These actions are part of the administration’s broader Investing in America agenda, which has already directed over $560 billion to more than 68,000 projects nationwide.
Key initiatives include the Bureau of Land Management’s plan to make 31 million acres of public lands available for solar energy development, aiming to deliver clean power to millions of homes.
These efforts are yielding significant results. The Department of Energy has cut environmental review timelines by half for clean energy projects, and the Department of Transportation has reduced environmental assessments by a third.
By accelerating these processes, the administration is protecting communities and the environment, creating jobs, and lowering energy costs for American families.
