“We pursue justice without fear or favor. We intend to hold everyone, anyone who is criminally responsible for events surrounding January 6th or any attempt to interfere with the lawful transfer of power from one administration to another accountable,” Attorney General Merrick Garland said during a sit-down interview with NBC’s Lester Holt.

And now the Washington Post has revealed the Department of Justice is focusing its attention on former President Donald Trump. The Post spoke with two sources who said the department is looking into conversations with Trump, his lawyers, and others in his inner circle who sought to substitute Trump allies for certified electors from some states Joe Biden won.

The sources also said the prosecutors have asked hours of detailed questions about meetings Trump led in December of 2020 and January 2021, his pressure campaign on Pence to overturn the election, and what instructions Trump gave his lawyers and advisors about fake electors and sending electors back to the states.
