Rapper Doja Cat leads the 2022 BET Awards nominations with a staggering six nods, while Drake and Ari Lennox earned four nominations each. The exciting news comes just two weeks after the “Say So” hitmaker took home four awards at the Billboard Music Awards for Top R&B Artist, Top R&B Female Artist, Top R&B Album, and Top Viral Song.
The Grammy winner’s hit album Planet Her will compete for Album of the Year. While she is up for Best Female R&B Pop Artist and Best Female Hip Hop Artist, her duet with SZA “Kiss Me More” earns nods for Best Collaboration and Best Video.
Meanwhile, Drake is scoring nominations for Best Male Hip Hop Artist, Video of the Year for “Way 2 Sexy”, and Best Collaboration. Lennox earns a nod for Best Female R&B Artist.
Dojo Cat has been on a winning streak earning 14 total nominations at the Billboard Music Awards and 11 nods at the Grammys. Unfortunately, the superstar recently announced she is canceling her tour appearances this summer because she has to undergo routine surgery.
