In a major endorsement, more than 400 economists and economic policy experts, including former Federal Reserve officials and Nobel laureates, have thrown their support behind Vice President Kamala Harris’ vision for an “opportunity economy.” The bipartisan group highlights her focus on supporting middle-class families and small businesses in contrast to the economic policies of Republican presidential candidate former President Donald Trump.
Harris’ approach includes lowering costs and fostering growth, while Trump’s proposals like a national sales tax could raise taxes for the average family by nearly $4,000, sparking inflation and economic instability, according to experts.
Both candidates are scheduled to outline their economic plans this week in battleground states like Georgia and Pennsylvania, where their contrasting visions are expected to take center stage.
