If 2023 has an Oscar party theme, it has to be “we’re back.” That’s right. This week’s run-up to Sunday’s 95th Academy Awards is jam-packed.
There are parties everywhere, from big blowouts to medium size soirees, right down to intimate and hot ticket bashes. It’s the year everything is finally back to normal after the pandemic. It’s hard to even find a limousine or an Uber. At this point, everybody’s booked.
The 15th Annual ESSENCE Black Women In Hollywood Awards Luncheon is back this year. They’re honoring Gina Prince-Bythewood, Tara Duncan, Danielle Deadwyler, Dominique Thorne, and Sheryl Lee Ralph — who has just been everywhere and enjoying herself everywhere, and I’m loving it all.
And then there will be other parties. Charles King from MACRO is having his party. There’ll be a lot of them. I’ll be telling you all about this stuff, and of course, we’ll be at the Oscars. You will see what we have coming up from the red carpet and backstage. Don’t wanna miss it.
