In a significant boost for her campaign, Vice President Kamala Harris has secured endorsements from more than 200 Republicans who previously worked for former Presidents George W. Bush and Ronald Reagan and Senators John McCain and Mitt Romney. According to an open letter obtained by USA Today, these GOP veterans, who once supported President Joe Biden, are now throwing their weight behind Harris and her running mate Gov. Tim Walz.
The letter highlights the group’s concerns about Donald Trump’s leadership and the dangers of his Project 2025 agenda. The Harris campaign has been actively courting Republican voters, launching a “Republicans for Harris” group and featuring prominent GOP figures at last week’s Democratic National Convention.
Among the endorsers are conservative figures like former federal judge Michael Luddick and several top advisers from past Republican administrations. The move underscores the growing bipartisanship support for Harris as the November election approaches.
