Former NFL player and GOP contender Herschel Walker has finally agreed to debate incumbent Sen. Raphael Warnock (D-Ga.) for the U.S. Senate race in Georgia.

The two candidates will debate on Oct. 14 in Savannah. It’s unclear if Walker will commit to a second debate. The announcement comes after many months of the Heisman Trophy Winner refusing to appear onstage with Warnock, and insinuating that he didn’t need to meet Warnock at all during the campaign.

Despite having the backing of Donald Trump and other powerful GOP members, Walker has proven gaffe-prone on the campaign trail. The race is hotly contested, as control of the Senate is at stake. Warnock is seeking re-election and his first full term in office. Walker has never held elected public office.
