According to Fox 5 Atlanta, Metro Atlanta pastor Jamal Bryant is shifting his focus to Dollar General after months of boycotting Target over its rollback of diversity initiatives.
Bryant, pastor of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church, previously led a 40-day boycott of Target during Lent, which has since expanded nationwide. On the fifth anniversary of George Floyd’s death, he led a prayer protest outside a Target in Conyers.
Now, Bryant is urging an “electronic protest” of Dollar General, accusing the company of abandoning diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts.
While not calling for a full boycott — citing limited store options in some areas — he’s encouraging supporters to pressure the company via emails, calls, and social media to demand corporate accountability.
