According to CNN, Mark Robinson, the Republican nominee for governor of North Carolina, made controversial comments over a decade ago on a pornography website, referring to himself as a “black NAZI!” and supporting the reinstatement of slavery. Despite denying these comments, Robinson, who has a history of anti-trans rhetoric, also admitted to watching transgender pornography on the site.
The messages were linked to Robinson through biographical details and a shared email address. Despite mounting pressure to step down, Robinson called the allegations “salacious tabloid lies.”
Robinson’s controversial past includes anti-abortion stances, offensive remarks about civil rights leaders, and referring to former first lady Michelle Obama as “human waste.”
