From our Met Gala Post-it Notes: folks are still talking about model Alton Mason. He stole the show as Chanel’s bride, leaving everyone in awe. Alton Mason was the first Black model to walk for Chanel in that 2018 Métiers d’Art show. Alton made history in the fashion world and the Chanel bride, a much-awaited final look of every Chanel Haute Couture show, has been the epitome of elegance and beauty since the era of Karl Lagerfeld. And, of course, that’s who they were celebrating at this year’s Met Gala.
The other bride there, Rihanna, was unforgettable and fashionably late arriving to the Met Gala. The superstar donned a stunning Maison Valentino silk white gown, complete with a breathtaking 16-foot train. I think she was mirroring Princess Diana from back in the day. The gown had 30 camellias made of 500 delicate pedals and 25 leaves. A fitting tribute to the great late Karl Lagerfeld.
Jackson Mahomes, the younger brother of NFL great Patrick Mahomes, has been arrested and charged with aggravated sexual battery. People Magazine reports that the 22-year-old social media influencer is being held on a $100,000 bond and is scheduled for arraignment later this week. His arrest stems from an incident at a local restaurant back in February.
According to those who were there, including apparently TMZ because they are everywhere and they have posted video, the NFL star’s younger brother was accused of assaulting a woman by the name of Aspen Vaughn. She is a restaurant owner. The video shows the younger Mahomes repeatedly grabbing the woman’s neck and kissing her as she appears to push him away. The younger brother has often appeared alongside his other brother, Patrick, throughout his career. The siblings have a large following on social media. But apparently, Jackson has been embroiled in several controversies while shadowing his older brother Patrick. You know, it just isn’t easy being a spare.
As Jamie Foxx continues his recovery from that medical emergency, which we actually pretty much kind of know now, it was a stroke. The actor is out as host of the popular Beat Shazam game show on Fox. They went into production days after Jamie fell ill and his daughter Corrine, who is also a DJ on the show, will be replaced because she has been by her father’s side at the hospital in Atlanta. His condition is still improving and, you know, we’re just all praying for you, Jamie. Cannot wait to see you back here in La La Land again. And I hope that will be soon.
