(AURN News) This morning, President Trump posted on X that he’s announcing he is appointing Bill Pulte, who is the current director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency and chairman of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, as acting director of national intelligence, replacing Tulsi Gabbard.
And this fits a clear pattern with President Trump, rewarding loyalty and not expertise.
Pulte spent the last year doing Trump’s dirty work, using the power of a housing regulator to file criminal mortgage fraud referrals against the president’s political enemies, including Sen. Adam Schiff, New York Attorney General Letitia James and Federal Reserve Gov. Lisa Cook.
Now, he will oversee all 18 U.S. intelligence agencies.
The question now is what happens with someone who’s already using regulatory power to target Black women and political opponents to get access now to the NSA, the CIA and the FBI?
