Will SCOTUS Block House Committee From Seeing Trump Taxes?

Former president, Donald Trump wants the Supreme Court to keep a House committee from getting hold to his taxes. He filed an emergency request to put on hold a lower court ruling that allows the House and Waste Committee to request the tax materials. Now, House Democrats say they need this to make sure the IRS is properly auditing the president’s returns.

NSF’s new legislation is needed. However, Trump says it’s all political. His lawyers call it pretextual and disingenuous, saying that they’re just looking for information that is damaging on the former President. Trump’s lawyers wrote if allowed to stand it will undermine the separation of powers and render the office of the presidency vulnerable to invasive information demands from political opponents in the legislative branch.
