(AURN News) – What happens when a superstar rapper steps into hard-line politics? It could lead to calls for deportation. Nicki Minaj is facing intense backlash after appearing at a conservative conference in Arizona where supporters of the MAGA movement gathered for a Turning Point USA conference.
During the appearance, she praised President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance, saying she has connected with them on a personal level and is done staying quiet about her views. That moment sent social media into overdrive, with an online petition on Change.org calling for immigration officials to review Minaj’s residency status and potentially deport her to Trinidad, where she was born. The petition has surpassed 30,000 signatures.
Supporters argue that Minaj has abandoned communities that once felt supported by her. They say public figures should be held accountable for how their messages land in a tense political climate.
