Trump Says He Is Banning CNN, MS NOW and Politico From the White House

WASHINGTON (AURN News) — President Donald Trump announced Friday in a Truth Social post that he is banning CNN, MS NOW and Politico from the White House, accusing the outlets of spreading “fake news” and warning that more media organizations could be next.

The latest action adds to a growing series of disputes between Trump and major news organizations.

It follows an earlier legal fight with The Associated Press, which sued after the White House restricted its access to some presidential events over the news organization’s continued use of “Gulf of Mexico” rather than “Gulf of America.”

Paramount, CBS’ parent company, agreed to a $16 million settlement in Trump’s lawsuit over a “60 Minutes” interview with then-Vice President Kamala Harris. ABC News separately agreed to pay $15 million to settle Trump’s defamation lawsuit over comments made by George Stephanopoulos.

Trump is also pursuing lawsuits against The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal, while the FCC has opened investigations or proceedings involving ABC, NBC, PBS and NPR during Trump’s second term.

The White House has not clarified whether the ban applies to press credentials, access to specific events or something broader.
