The legendary showdown, known as the “Rumble in the Jungle,” featured 32-year-old Ali against the undefeated, 25-year-old Foreman, who was heavily favored to win.

Ali employed his famous “rope-a-dope” strategy, leaning against the ropes, absorbing punches and allowing Foreman to exhaust himself.

In the eighth round, Ali unleashed a powerful combination of punches, knocking Foreman out and reclaiming the heavyweight title. He had been stripped of the title seven years earlier after refusing induction into the U.S. military during the Vietnam War.

The historic victory cemented Ali’s legacy as one of the greatest athletes of all time and became a defining moment in boxing history, celebrated around the world.
