We have a breaking story and it is not good news. Former NFL quarterback Antonio Dennard was shot and killed outside Reading, Pennsylvania, over the weekend. He was 32 years old. The Brooks County Coroner’s Office says he was pronounced dead at 3:15 a.m. on Sunday, after being transported to Reading Hospital for a gunshot wound.
His death has been ruled a homicide and police are currently investigating. I’m sure we’ll be hearing more about this story soon. Dennard spent time in the NFL with the New York Giants, Green Bay Packers, and Jacksonville Jaguars over the course of his career. We send our condolences to his family.
In case you missed it, over the weekend, 81-year-old Robert Kraft married Dana Blumberg, who is 47. It was a surprise wedding. Kraft, of course, is the owner of the New England Patriots.
And what a way to kick off their marriage it was. Kraft and his new wife kept the party going after their surprise wedding in New York by hitting another star-studded soiree. The newlywed stopped by Lil Baby’s album release party, and an insider says that Kraft was so energetic, it was incredible. They say he took shots of tequila with Lil Baby and the rest of the crew, and then around midnight, they did some dancing. Ed Sheeran, who attended the billionaire’s wedding earlier in the evening, performed a song alongside Elton John and also stopped by Lil Baby’s celebration for about 20 minutes.
But the Krafts came in their wedding gear. They did not care. They were ready to party. And in fact, I hear that it didn’t end until about 4:00 AM. Whoo, all I can say is I know Robert is glad he lives in the era of Viagra.
New York’s 101st Street in East Harlem has been renamed Cicely Tyson Way in honor of the legendary actress, Cicely Tyson. You know, we lost her at age 96 on January 28th, 2021. Now, the award-winning actress was raised on 101st Street, and this party in her honor was held on 101st and 3rd Avenue. It was attended by family, friends, and fans. They just wanted to come out and celebrate the life that she lived.
Cicely Tyson was a part of everybody’s life on Broadway, television, and in films for seven decades. I still can’t believe she’s gone. Well, she’ll always be with us. We can always pull up a Cicely Tyson movie or a Cicely Tyson TV show. That’s what I love about media.
