(AURN News) – The Texas Stock Exchange is up and running, marking a new era in American finance.

Just like the New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq, the Texas Stock Exchange is expected to serve as a major hub for stock trading and public companies.

On Monday, the exchange began test trading. On Friday, it is expected to move to even more stocks, with additional stocks scheduled to be added throughout the month.

So where will it be located? The headquarters will be housed in a brand-new building under construction called Bank of America Tower in Dallas’ Uptown neighborhood.

The Dallas-based exchange says it plans to compete with the NYSE. It has already been nicknamed “Y’all Street” and has described itself as “the most well-capitalized equities exchange to ever be approved by the SEC.”
