(AURN News) — On Election Day 2025, voters across the country are casting ballots in competitive races that could reshape local and state leadership. While this isn’t a presidential election year, key contests in New York City, Texas, New Jersey, and Virginia are drawing national attention.

In New York, Zohran Mamdani holds a narrow lead in the mayoral race, which could make him the city’s first Muslim American mayor. In Texas, Houston voters are choosing a successor to the late Rep. Sylvester Turner, a race energizing a new generation of Black leaders.

Meanwhile, Virginia’s governor’s race and New Jersey’s congressional contests are testing shifting voter sentiment on affordability, education, and equality. Every vote carries weight — shaping not just local communities, but the political direction of the nation heading into 2026.

Make sure to get out and vote today.
