(AURN News) — Gas prices are climbing again, putting more pressure on Americans already dealing with rising costs.
According to AAA, the national average for a gallon of regular gas is now $4.01 as of March 31, 2026. That is up from $3.99 just one day ago and $3.97 one week ago.
The increase is even more noticeable compared with last month, when the national average stood at $2.98 a gallon. A year ago, drivers were paying $3.16.
Prices are higher across the board. Midgrade gas is now averaging $4.54, while premium has reached $4.90. Diesel prices have climbed to $5.45 a gallon.
The steady rise comes as Americans continue to feel the impact of higher costs tied to transportation, shipping and everyday goods.
