Stellar TV to Premier “38th Annual Stellar Gospel Music Awards”
The Stellar TV network, owned and operated by Central City Productions, has announced its plans to air the premiere of “The 38th Annual Stellar Gospel Music Awards” on Sunday, July 30, 2023. This year’s show, held in Las Vegas, was taped live at the Orleans Arena on Saturday, July 15, 2023, and is co-hosted by gospel artists Tasha Cobbs-Leonard and Jonathan McReynolds. Highlights will include performances by this year’s top winner with eight Stellar awards, Pastor Mike Jr. Stellar TV can be viewed on Spectrum Charter Communications, Verizon FIOs and XUMO. The show will also have a second premiere on Sunday, August 6 at 8/7C on BET.
Gospel Artists Get Suited Up for Black Tie Cinematic Symphony
Maestro Leon Lacey says it’s time to get dressed up. He and his full film scoring orchestra will be presenting a full symphonic show featuring a roster of inspirational artists and renowned speakers in his first “Black Tie Cinematic Symphony.” This black-tie event will be held on July 28th at 8:15 pm in Lacey’s hometown, New York City at Brooklyn, NY’s Kings Theatre with special musical guests Yolanda Adams, Donald Lawrence, best-selling author and pastor Dr A.R. Bernard and TV motivational speaker Iyanla Vanzant.
Bishop Carlton Pearson Shares Health Concerns
In a recently posted video, Bishop Carlton Pearson of Tulsa, OK, revealed he was facing serious complications resulting from a longstanding battle with prostate cancer. Bishop Pearson said he was hospitalized after experiencing horrific pain for three weeks straight. Bishop Pearson, who was initially diagnosed with the disease at age 50, is now 70 years old and has been addressing his condition through exploratory surgery and alternative holistic medicines. He said he doesn’t believe what has occurred is life threatening but rather life adjusting. He’s expecting that he may need a few months of chemotherapy to shrink an existing tumor, but has not yet confirmed whether this treatment will be absolutely necessary.
Erica Campbell Kicks Off “The Feel Alright Tour”
Gospel artist and radio host Erica Campbell has kicked off the first stop on her “Feel Alright Tour” in Charlotte, NC, with special guest Lena Byrd Miles at Forest Hill Church. The concert was the first of seven stops that are planned. Her special guest and My Block Inc. label mate, Lena Byrd Miles, who hails from the Oakland/Bay Area of CA, recently won her first Stellar Award for “New Artist of the Year” in Las Vegas. The tour will continue to travel to several megachurches in Chicago and Indianapolis before wrapping up on July 30th in Atlanta, GA.
Karima Kibble in the Running for “Favorite Chef”
Karima Trotter Kibble, a founding member of the gospel girl group Virtue, has proven she can cook just as well as she can sing. Kibble was recently named as a wild card runner-up in Carla Hall’s Favorite Chef competition. The Louisiana native, who has been a fixture for 20 years in the gospel industry, is no stranger to the culinary field either. Kibble has been known as “That Soup Chic” and had begun creating and sharing her organic, homemade, fresh soups that were inspired by her health-conscious mother. Favorite Chef will award one chef with a cash prize of $25,000 and the opportunity to appear in a two-page advertorial in “Taste of Home Magazine.”
