(AURN News) — Musician and producer Ike Turner Jr., the son of Ike and Tina Turner, has died at 67, according to Deadline.

He died in a Los Angeles hospital from kidney failure after years of heart problems and a recent stroke.

Born in 1958, Ike Jr. followed in his parents’ footsteps as a sound engineer and producer, sharing a Grammy for his father’s 2007 blues album “Risin’ with the Blues.” Adopted by Tina Turner as a child, he helped run his father’s sound studio and played multiple instruments.

Though his relationship with his parents was complicated, Ike Jr. continued performing with his band, The Love Thang, preserving the Turner family’s musical legacy.
