Former FBI director James Comey starts his new job at Howard University today. His appearance is expected to be met with protests for various reasons most notably the contentious relationship between the FBI and the African American community, including investigations of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Malcolm X.

Some are upset over how Comey’s comments played negatively in the 2016 election, damaging Hillary Clinton’s chances. But Howard University President Dr. Wayne Frederick welcomes Comey in the midst of the controversy.
