(AURN News) — According to Billboard, Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You” has made history by securing its 20th week at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, the longest reign in the chart’s 67-year history. Originally released in 1994, the holiday classic surpasses the previous records set by Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road” and Shaboozey’s “A Bar Song (Tipsy).” This milestone gives Carey the Hot 100 longevity record for a second time; she previously held it with “One Sweet Day” in 1995–96.
The song has now logged 77 total weeks on the chart, tying Dua Lipa’s “Levitating” as the longest-charting hit by a woman. The achievement also cements Carey as the first artist to reach No. 1 on the Hot 100 across four different decades, while “All I Want for Christmas Is You” continues to dominate holiday streaming, airplay and sales each season.
