Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) said President Donald Trump’s unauthorized strikes on three Iranian nuclear sites are grounds for impeachment, calling the move a grave constitutional violation.
Trump announced the U.S. had achieved a “spectacular military success.” While several Democrats condemned the attack as unconstitutional, Ocasio-Cortez went further, accusing Trump of violating Congressional War Powers. “This is clearly grounds for impeachment,” Ocasio-Cortez wrote.
The President’s disastrous decision to bomb Iran without authorization is a grave violation of the Constitution and Congressional War Powers.

He has impulsively risked launching a war that may ensnare us for generations.
It is absolutely and clearly grounds for impeachment.
The strikes followed escalating tensions between Iran and Israel. Although Democrats are in the minority and unlikely to succeed in an impeachment effort, the push reflects growing concern over presidential overreach in military actions.
