Oscar-winner Olivia Colman finally gets to play a superhero in the Marvel Comics Universe in “Secret Invasion,” a new Disney mini-series. She joins Samuel L. Jackson in this latest series, playing the character Sonya Falsworth, a high-ranking M-16 agent.

Think of her as Britain’s Nick Fury, only a bit more brutal.

Here’s Colman, in her own words, on playing Sonya Falsworth:

“I mean, I was imagining that I’d be a superhero… I loved playing [Sonya Falsworth] so much because she’s, I think she’s funny… I find it hilarious that she goes to a torture scene with a rather chic coat, little handbag, and is clearly loving her job. And I love the fact that she and Fury are friends, share a history, have each other’s back, sort of take the piss out of each other… It’s such an enjoyable relationship that we have.”

There are six episodes to “Secret Invasion” streaming now. Check it out. It’s pretty exciting.
