Sen. Jeff Merkley on Impeachment Hearings Long Term Damage to Senate, Presidency

As It was originally assumed before the impeachment trial of the president, it looks like an acquittal will happen in a trial with no witnesses. I talked with Senator Jeff Merkley (D-OR) on the matter.

With tonight’s defeat of motions for docs/witnesses, the “trial” is now officially a coverup. The Senate failed its responsibility & endorsed an imperial presidency immune from accountability by indictments, investigations, or impeachment. A tragedy for our Constitution & America
