The FBI has raided the home and office of former Trump national security adviser John Bolton. Agents hauled out evidence Friday as part of an investigation into classified documents.

Bolton, once one of Trump’s fiercest internal critics, was not arrested or charged. But the move is raising alarms.

Bolton warned in January that anyone who crosses Trump risks retribution. Now he is experiencing it.

The Justice Department has not detailed the evidence, but the search required sign-off from a federal judge. Trump, speaking off the cuff at the White House Historical Association, said he had not ordered the raid. But he reminded reporters he is the chief law enforcement officer.

FBI Director Kash Patel, who once labeled Bolton part of the “deep state,” cheered the operation online, writing that “NO ONE is above the law.”
