Will she stay or will she go? That’s the multi-million dollar question at The View right now regarding the show’s moderator Whoopi Goldberg.
The Emmy-winning talk show host, who announced she would be leaving the panel at the end of its current season, could potentially return to The View – but has very specific demands if she is going to consider sticking around. ABC News has already approached Goldberg’s team about getting her to stay on for three more seasons, but a close source tells DailyMail.com that the Oscar winner wants at least a $1.5million salary raise (to $3.5 million), a position as an executive producer on the show, and the removal of a network executive from the show.
‘She wants this one ABC executive off the show,’ the source revealed. ‘She blames this person for trying to turn The View into Good Morning America with the rotating hosts and contributors and doesn’t want that exec involved in the show any more,’ the source revealed.
To ensure that she that she has more say in the behind the scenes aspects of the show, Goldberg, who has executive produced television shows and movies before, also wants to become an executive producer of The View. ‘She is tired of having to answer to people that she doesn’t feel like are worthy of their positions. ‘So she wants to be an executive producer of the show so that she has a seat at the decision-making table and can have more control over the things going on,’ continued the source.
