One month into his presidency, President Joe Biden made clear his distaste for even naming the man he had ousted from the Oval Office, declaring, “I’m tired of talking about Trump.” But now, Biden is eagerly naming and singling out the “former guy” in prepared remarks and on social media. When will President Biden file official papers to run in 2024? Former President Trump has dropped several hints that he will possibly do so before the midterm elections in November. It’s an important question as more and more Democrats in office publicly questioned if Mr. Biden should run again or if he will face a challenger. A New York Times/Siena College poll recently found just 26% of Democrats say they would prefer President Joe Biden to be their party’s candidate in the 2024 election, and 64% say they want someone else. Here’s White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre:

“I mean, the president has said that he intends to run… He’s said that multiple times… But again…we have some work to do in the next couple of days and weeks that we’re going to focus on. We’re not going to be distracted.”
