Deadline for Peace: Can Trump’s Gaza Plan Hold?

(AURN News) — President Donald Trump has given Hamas three to four days to accept his new Gaza peace plan or, in his words, face “a very sad end.”

The 20-point proposal, unveiled alongside Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, promises an immediate cease-fire, a hostage-for-prisoner swap, humanitarian aid and a staged Israeli withdrawal.

Hamas would have to disarm, a demand it has flatly rejected in the past.

Trump’s plan would also put Gaza under a temporary technocratic Palestinian committee, overseen by an international “Board of Peace” chaired by Trump, with former Prime Minister Tony Blair included among its members.

Arab leaders from Saudi Arabia to Qatar are welcoming the effort, but many Palestinians say it reads like a checklist of Israel’s demands.

Meanwhile, Israeli forces continue pushing into Gaza City as airstrikes intensify. More than 66,000 Palestinians in Gaza have been killed since Israel’s offensive began after Hamas’ Oct. 7 attack.
