(AURN News) — New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker, D-N.J., and Alexis Lewis were married Saturday in an intimate ceremony in Washington, D.C., just days after legally wedding at the federal courthouse in Newark.
Their parents witnessed the civil ceremony, officiated by U.S. District Judge Julien Xavier Neals, and the couple celebrated afterward with Italian pastries and a vegan cookie-dough cake.
The Washington ceremony blended their faith traditions, featuring blessings from both a rabbi and a pastor.
Lewis, 38, a director at Brasa Capital Management, met Booker on a blind date in 2024. The two quickly formed a deep connection, bonding through shared interests, long walks in Newark and a mutual commitment to service.
Booker, 56, says he is embracing this new chapter with joy and gratitude.
