(AURN News) — The Justice Department has released millions more pages from its investigation into convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, calling it the final phase required under the Epstein Files Transparency Act.
Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche said the new disclosure includes more than 3.5 million pages, 2,000 videos and 180,000 images, much of it commercial pornography or material seized from Epstein’s devices.
The release came weeks after a December deadline, prompting criticism that the department is slow-walking transparency.
Blanche said officials identified 6 million potentially responsive pages, but released just over half, citing legal exemptions for victim privacy, child sex abuse material and active investigations.
But advocacy groups said the DOJ failed to fully protect survivors, pointing to documents that appear to expose victims’ identities, including unredacted driver’s licenses.
