(AURN News) — A new Axios Harris poll finds that a strong majority of Americans across age groups want companies to slow down the development of artificial intelligence tools.
Seventy-seven percent of U.S. adults say they want businesses to “take AI creation slowly and get it right the first time,” according to the 2025 Axios Harris 100 survey of 2,123 adults conducted in May.
The sentiment was strongest among Baby Boomers, with 91% expressing caution. That view was also shared by 77% of Generation X, 63% of Millennials, and 74% of Gen Z respondents.
While AI has rapidly changed the way people work, eat, shop and communicate, many Americans are expressing concern about the pace of the technology‘s advancement.
The findings come as artificial intelligence continues to dominate headlines — influencing industries from education and transportation to entertainment and fast-food drive-thrus.
