Latricia Trice is the consummate professional. With nearly 20 years of experience in corporate America as a marketing wiz, she eventually realized that her goal wasn’t C-suite after all. Instead, she pivoted and in an act of bravery, decided to go into business for herself. In January 2023, Latricia Trice launched L Trice Consulting, a full-service marketing agency that helps companies level up their business and expand their reach, and it changed her life.

“It was just time for a change. I got into a place where I felt uncomfortable and I didn’t feel like I was where I needed to be anymore,” she tells AURN. “And so, I always wanted to start my own company but you get fearful of like, ‘Is this actually going to work?’”

The Grand Rapids, Michigan native is the product of entrepreneurial parents and decided to bet on faith over fear, especially since she already had the blueprint. Six months after launching, Trice scaled her business to six figures. Now, at almost two years in business, L Trice Consulting boasts a diverse array of clients, from influencers to non-profit organizations, and more, as well as a team of employees who help keep the engine running.

“Your network matters because who you know or who knows you and is aware of your work really does help. So, for me, that was my inspiration,” explains Trice, who added that she wasn’t shy about telling people about her business at events. “I tapped into the fact that I had years of experience. I’ve been doing it for other companies for so long, so the mind shift was literally in that moment. I was like, I’m about to put myself out there and network. So, once people started knowing this is, what I was doing, I was building off of my network. Most of the clients that I’ve gotten to this point have been all word of mouth.”

Moving forward, Tice is excited about more new opportunities. She plans to get into government contracts, expand digital marketing services, and expand opportunities to help business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs launch and scale to their full potential.

“I’m excited about new opportunities. I’m excited about growth and also excited about the opportunities to help other people, especially women, especially women Black women,” says Trice. “I’m looking forward to being able to do more business coaching and speaking engagements, and things like that. Consulting is the future. Working with people who complement your work is huge.”
