The State of California has released a report that could pave the way for reparations on a large scale. At 500 pages, it recommends the creation of an office that would help determine eligibility. In 2020 Governor Gavin Newsom created a task force to study and look into what could be done to provide financial restitution to the descendants of slaves. Lawmakers are expecting to receive a more detailed plan for reparations next year.
